In 1963, Louis Muench, Sr., his wife, Doris, and their family moved to Cumberland, Wisconsin, from Chicago where Louie was a meat cutter. He took a position with The Company Store in Cumberland as the Meat Department Manager.
In 1970, Louie realized his own dream of ownership and opened the doors to Louie's Finer Meats on Main Street in the building that is currently the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce office. In 1978, Louie's expanded and moved to its present location on Hwy. 63 on the north end of town.
Through the years, three of the six Muench children have followed in their father's footsteps. Louis Muench Jr. (and sons Louis K. and Eric), James Muench, and William Muench have all dedicated their careers to Louie's. You can always count on seeing one or more of Muenchs behind the meat counter.
The Muench family would like to invite you to stop by their store in beautiful Cumberland, Wisconsin. Everyone at Louie's takes the utmost pride in our hometown atmosphere and customer service. We would like to thank all of our old and new customers for allowing us to serve you for 40 years!
At Louie's we make sausage with a combination of old school and new school, but any way we make it, you can taste the dedication we put into each sausage!

International 2007 Medal
Louie's Finer Meats was awarded six Gold Medals, two Silver Medals and one Bronze Medal at the International Trade Fair, for the meat industry, which was held in Frankfurt, Germany in May 2007, in addition to two Gold Medals in May 1995. The sausages were judged by the highest standards for quality of workmanship and flavor. These sausages are available at our retail store or online.

LOUIE MUENCH INDUCTED INTO WISCONSIN MEAT INDUSTRY HALL OF FAME
We're proud to announce that Louie Muench, Jr., has recently been inducted into the Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame, The May 2009 induction ceremonies were held in Madison with many friends and family in attendance.
The Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame recognizes the contributions of individuals who have had a significant impact on the meat industry of Wisconsin. The contributions may be a business venture, an idea, a process or invention, an educational effort, a leadership role, or any other effort that has influenced positively the people and environment of the state of Wisconsin. Since 1993, sixty-two individuals have been inducted in the Hall.
Louie's leadership, contributions and service to the Wisconsin meat industry form the basis for his selection to the Hall of Fame. Specifically cited are his success in building Louie's Finer Meats into an outstanding, innovative and award winning family corporation specializing in retail, wholesale and custom meat processing, his commitment to the new product development and innovation across a broad range of product categories and his service to the industry in numerous leadership positions and as a teacher and mentor for students and other meat processors.
In addition, Louie Muench, Jr. was honored on May 22, 2009 as a Cumberland High School Graduate of Achievement.

The 2010 Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors convention was held April 9-11 in Madison. This year the product show featured a record numer of entries (1042 entries) from throughout Wisconsin. This is the largest competition of its kind in the United States. Louie's Finer Meats won 12 awards at this contest:
